Medical Assistant
Imagine an education that prepares you for 40 different entry-level
career paths.
Now stop imagining. Begin your education as a Medical Assistant
where 40 different career paths are open to the trained Medical
Assistant.
Medical Assistants help people every day, working in physicians'
offices, clinics, labs, hospitals, hospices, retirement homes, and
more. Often they are the first and last points of contact for patients
visiting healthcare facilities, providing support services for doctors
and nurses as well as the patients.
Receive 816 hours of training in the classroom, computer lab, and
externship program to gain the knowledge and develop the skills
vital to both the administrative side and the clinical side of the
medical community. Not just theoretical "book" skills,
but real-world skills, tested and proven in 240 hours dedicated
to an externship as part of your education.
Learn the administrative side. Develop communications technology
skills. Be computer-literate and develop touch-typing skills. Learn
the most commonly used software package for the medical field, as
well as learning fundamental bookkeeping. Learn the language of
the medical profession: anatomy and physiology, along with medical
procedures. And become skilled in insurance billing and coding.
But you'll also learn the clinical side. Perform injections, learn
phlebotomy techniques and 12-lead EKG procedures. Learn how to take
vital signs, specimen collection, infection control and safety measures,
and even assist in physical exams and learn minor office surgical
procedures.
Learn from instructors who are themselves medical professionals,
in an environment structured to give you the proper exposure to
all the technology you will be faced with in the medical workplace.
Once your program is completed, you will have a diploma from Medical
Training College, coupled with 240 hours - the equivalent of six
40-hour work weeks - of real-world experience actually doing the
job of a Medical Assistant, which can also become a job reference
on your résumé. Having completed your course of studies
and externship successfully, you will be eligible to test for certification
through the National Healthcareer Association's examinations to
become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant; a Certified Phlebotomist;
a Certified EKG Technician; and a Certified Billing & Coding
Specialist.
Graduates are eligible to seek placement through our Placement
Office in the growing medical field. Start your future now. We're
training tomorrow's professionals today.
We succeed because our graduates do.
